What do women really want?

Just a bit puzzled here. I'm reasonable looking, neat and tidy, well dressed, doing well in my career and financially, physically fit, intelligent, well educated and well spoken. I don't go around flaunting that - I'm actually a bit quiet and shy. However, I'm still having trouble picking up girls - and yet I can easily make friends with them. Even more annoying is these same girls will fall for some smooth-talking loser and then come back to me for friendly advice... ??
