Why do i look wired with bright colors on my eyes? a.s.a.p?

Okay w/e i try putting bright colors on my eyes it looks horrible. I got this pigmented eyeshadow thing for x-mas and i barely use it b/c of the colors are so bright. I do have pale skin. I just use the whites and the browns. How can i look with the bright colors? The pallet is from BH cosmetics 88 color eye shadow pallet. I don't want my mom to think that i don't use it.I have pale skin from this condition i have.
